A five-part live event series and creative programme celebrating the cultural power and legacy of migration in Bristol, in collaboration with Arts Council England.

Running from September to November 2025, DIASPORA will transform Loco Klub into a space for connection, resistance, and joy – with each event led by pioneering artists from across the UK and beyond, all of whom bring lived experience from across the global majority.Curated by Bristol-based producer and vocalist Grove – known for blending dancehall, bass, and hip-hop into politically charged, body-moving sound – DIASPORA reimagines nightlife as a space that uplifts, challenges, and nurtures. Across five unique shows, the series will explore the music, stories, and creative practices shaped by migration and diasporas, amplifying voices too often underrepresented in mainstream culture.
Alongside the live events, DIASPORA will host:
- Five paired community workshops for young people, co-designed with Grove and delivered by artists whose work is rooted in their own heritage and experience.
- A mentoring programme led by Festival Lab, supporting people from underrepresented backgrounds into production and technical roles within the music industry.
We’re committed to keeping DIASPORA accessible. A number of free tickets will be available for those facing financial barriers, as well as for young people from the global majority. If cost is a barrier to attending, simply email venuemanager@locobristol.com – no proof required.
